Doug Gillham, a meteorologist with The Weather Network says the North Bay area will be comfortable this summer with temperature’s a little above average but it won’t be a heat wave.

“We don’t think it will be a relentless all out scorcher. We’ll have periods of hot weather but there’ll be enough breaks of cooler weather to keep the average temperatures not too far above normal,” Gillham says.

He says rainfall accumulation will be close to average thanks to a few storms but that’s pretty typical for the summer.

“That’ll help bring rainfall totals close to normal. You’ll get enough rainfall to water the garden but at times you’ll have do some watering yourself at times. And there’ll be sunshine too along with the storms,” he says.

He says there’ll be more days that are above average than are below average.

Gillham says September promises to be warm as summer turns into fall.
