If this was a typical year, hundreds of motorbikes would be gearing up for the 2020 Nipissing Motorcycle Ride For Dad on Saturday.

Instead the committee will be giving away complimentary, reusable facemasks.

Officials say it’s their way of keeping the event alive, giving back to the community and helping in the fight against COVID-19.

Volunteers will be at Parker’s Independent Grocer, Canadian Tire, Giant Tiger and Perron’s Freshmart in Astorville from 8am to 10am Saturday.

Masks will also be available, while supplies last, at Caisse Alliance North Bay, Scotiabank at Northgate, Lucky 13 on McKeown Ave, Allstate Insurance, Osprey Links Golf Course and Highview Golf Course.

Instead of the group ride a ‘Ride Alone Together’ event is being held.

Information and registration can be found at ridefordad.ca.
