Environment Canada says a heat warning remains in effect for the North Bay area which includes North Bay, Powassan, Mattawa and West Nipissing.

The warning says daytime high temperatures will be near 30 degrees Celsius for a few days and humidex values will be in the low to mid thirties.

It says never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
