Two scams to detail

Some hydro-related scams to tell you about.
Consumers are being warned by the Ontario Energy Board to beware messages with COVID-19 in the subject line claiming to be your utility.
This after reports of emails, texts and websites sharing fake information about bill relief programs, refunds and alternative payment methods during the pandemic.
Meantime last week, North Bay Hydro reported customers were receiving calls about servicing their hot water tanks.
Officials say verify the phone number or call their services company to make sure it’s valid.
