The 6th annual Medication Drug Drop-off Day was held on June 26, 2018.

In a time frame from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. thirty-seven citizens visited the booth to drop off unused or expired prescriptions, over-the counter medications, vitamins, herbal supplements for this safe disposal. As well, thirty-six visitors visited and obtained a medication bag with information as well as a pill container. All visitors to the site were reminded that unused medications can be disposed of at their local pharmacy any day of the year.

During the four hour period:

  • 61.2 pounds of medications were collected (28.4 pounds more than 2017)
  • 8 pounds of medication cardboard or packaging (2017 packaging and bottles were counted together for a total of 15.4 pounds)
  • 25.8 pounds of medication bottles in 2018
  • 1 pound in syringes in 2018
