Ontario’s Family Fishing Week starts tomorrow (Saturday) and runs through July 8th.

It’s an opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario waters without the otherwise mandatory fishing version outdoors card.

Next Sunday, July 8th there are a couple of fishing derbies taking place.

The Powassan Fishing Derby takes place from 8am to 12noon at the municipal beach (hydro pond) Purdon Line.

The cost is $15 for adults $15.

Children under 16 are free.

Also next Sunday, the Booth Landing Annual Fishing Derby takes place in Chisholm, from 8 am to 2 pm.

The cost is $5 for kids 12 and under, $10 for ages 13-18 and $20 for those 19 and over.
