huntingThe Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says most hunters inspected during the opening week of the gun season for deer in the Northeast were obeying the hunting regulations.

An enforcement blitz was held between November 2nd and 8th in the North Bay, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie areas.

More than 540 hunters were inspected with 26 charges and 39 warnings issued.

Illegally harvested wildlife was also seized.

Charges were laid for careless hunting, carrying loaded firearms in vehicles and vessels, failing to wear a helmet while on an all-terrain vehicle and liquor-related violations too.
