plays autism support

A local Glow In The Dark golf tournament is back for a 5th consecutive year at the Clarion Resort Pinewood Park Golf Course.

This year’s event will be held on Friday September 16th.

It’s a fundraiser for P.L.A.Y.S. which stands for Parents Lending Autistic Youth Support Association.

Spokesperson Shannon Berger says the event begins at 6 pm with a barbecue and meet and greet and then there’ll be a shot gun start at 7:45 pm.

She says the event has proven to be successful because it’s unique to most golf tournaments.

The entry fee is $100 per person or $350 per 4 person team.

The funds raised support those impacted by the autism spectrum disorder and their families in terms of offerring programs to them like cooking and dance classes and Christmas parties.

Berger says they usually raise around $7,000 from this event but hope to raise $10,000.
