The North Bay Battalion start a busy stretch of three games in four days with a home game against Oshawa tonight (Thursday).

The Battalion will then head out on the road for a game against Niagara on Saturday.

The Troops play the Generals again Sunday, in Oshawa.

Coach Stan Butler says it’s a challenging part of the schedule.

“Both teams this weekend are teams that people feel are at the top of the conference. We’ve just got to chip away and get points against these teams,” he says.

The early season roster adjustments also continue for the Battalion, who have released forward Andy Baker.

Butler says they have one more forward to cut, which means they’re going with 14 forwards and eight defencemen.

“Basically because we have a young ‘d’. Travis Mailhot has already been injured and Payton Vescio has been sick this week. It’s tough with young defencemen and you need a few extra,” Butler says.

Catch tonight’s game against Oshawa on Country 600 CKAT, starting at 6:55 pm.
