Officials at Ontario Northland are working to mitigate as many job losses as possible in the Remanufacturing and Repair Centre.

This after a pause in one of their contracts.

In a statement, VP of Rail Mechanical and Remanufacturing Dennis Higgs says they have less work than expected and they’re working with labour representatives.

“The division’s reputation for quality repair work has resulted in over 100 hires in the past few years, however at this time the company must balance the number of jobs with operational requirements,” he says.
