The North Bay Battalion picked up four out of six points on their three game weekend road trip, including a big win over the Soo yesterday (Sunday).

Captain Justin Brazeau (pictured) scored a highlight reel goal 3:12 into the extra frame to give the Troops the win.

Brad Chenier and Adam McMaster also scored for North Bay.

The Battalion won 5-3 in Flint on Friday, then lost 6-2 in Saginaw on Saturday.

Next up, North Bay is home to Mississauga on Thursday.

 

The Powassan Voodoos wrapped up five games in six days with a 3-2 loss at home to Kirkland Lake yesterday.

Joe Whittet and Dakotah Woods scored for Powassan in the loss.

 

In OUA women’s hockey, the Nipissing Lakers won both of their games on the weekend to kick off the 2018-19 season.

They defeated UOIT 2-1 in overtime on Friday, then scored a 2-1 win over Queen’s on Saturday.

The Nipissing men, meantime, were in Michigan where they lost a couple exhibition games to Lake Superior State.

In OUA women’s soccer, Nipissing defeated RMC 1-nil on Saturday, then finished in a scoreless draw with Queen’s yesterday.

The Nipissing men beat RMC 5-1 on Saturday, but lost 1-nil to Queen’s yesterday.

 

And the NNDSB Intermediate girls soccer tournament scheduled for today (Monday October 15th) has been postponed until Wednesday, October 17th.

Officials say it’s due to weather.
