The tenth and final plank in mayoral candidate Gary Gardiner’s platform has been released.

He says it’s time for bold action to respond to the opioid and mental health crisis.

“If elected, I will make finding a North Bay solution to this crisis a top priority,” he says in a release. “This matter has been studied in detail. Now it’s time for bold action.”

“I further commit to chairing a Mayor’s Task Force of expert stakeholders with the mandate of identifying and implementing strategies that will produce measurable, immediate results, improving the lives of individuals and families affected and the overall safety of our City,” Gardiner says.

He also says Emergency Medical Services needs more funding and he’ll fight for it.
