The North Bay Battalion start a home and home set with Niagara tonight (Friday) in St. Catharines.

The Ice Dogs won the only game between the teams so far this season, back in September, by a 6-1 score.

Battalion acting head coach Adam Dennis says the Troops will have to be at their best tonight, and again tomorrow night at Memorial Gardens.

“If you give them too many opportunities when they have the man advantage they’re going to hurt you. We have to be disciplined. We have to have everybody going because they’re a deep team with many skilled forwards. It’s going to be a good test,” he says.

The Battalion have lost two straight, a 12-round shootout loss to Erie and then in the last minute of Sunday’s game at Sudbury.

Dennis says they need a complete team effort this time around.

“I don’t think we played full games. In Sudbury we had a slow start and against Erie we had a really big lull in the 2nd period. If you want to win consistently in this league you’ve got to put in a full 60,” Dennis says.

The Troops have an 8-8-0-1 record a quarter of the way through the schedule.

Broadcast time tonight is 6:55 on Country 600 CKAT.
