Community rally set for Friday

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli’s office will be the location for what organizers are calling a solidarity rally to save our community. 

 It will take place Friday morning at 9 am outside the MPP’s office.

The president of the North Bay and District Labour Council Henri Giroux says we are seeing disregard of funding of public services in North Bay and the rest of the north. 

He says layoffs at the North Bay Regional Health Centre will impact families and seniors for years to come.

Giroux says the strike at Nipissing University is seeing a educational institution build walls of fostering social growth with its largest and most diverse work force and the locking out of 195 workers at Ontario Northland is sending shock waves throughout the north.

Giroux says CUPEOntario employees, Nipissing faculty  and Unifor members are all expected at the event on Friday .
