The North Bay Battalion lost their first pre-season game 3-2 in Sudbury on Sunday afternoon.

Adam McMaster scored a goal and assist for the Troops in the loss, while Danill Vertiy had the other Battalion goal.

North Bay scratched six veterans in the game.

The team came out of training camp with 26 players, including seven who had never played an OHL game.

Next up, the Battalion entertain the Wolves Tuesday night at 7 o’clock at Memorial Gardens.

 

In OUA soccer, both Nipissing Lakers teams defeated RMC on Sunday.

The women won 6-0 with six different Lakers scoring goals.

Carlee Bennard earned the shutout for Nipissing.  They’re now 2-2 on the season.

On the men’s side, the Lakers shutout RMC 4-0 for their first win of the season.

Nipissing is now 1-3 on the season.
