City police welcomed a new officer this morning (Friday).

Constable Maxine Baronette, who grew up in Sturgeon Falls, has been sworn-in.

She graduated from the Ontario Police College last month and was hired as a constable by North Bay Police.

Baronette began her law enforcement career as a Correctional Officer in New Brunswick after completing a police foundation diploma locally.

Prior to that she studied General Arts while playing varsity hockey at the University of Windsor.

In January 2018, she was hired as a special constable by the North Bay Police Service.
