The North Bay Police Civilian Police Academy will be starting in the New Year.

Police Chief Shawn Devine says it’s a chance for the public to learn about policing.

“What the laws are for citizens and what the laws are for police. The technology that we use and the services that we provide outside of core policing issues,” Devine says.

He says it’s a chance to engage with the public on what police do and try to clear up some of the myths on what policing is like.

Devine says they’re also looking for input from the public that will be covered in the strategic plan.
