Peace Week is this week

Monday  marks the start of YMCA Peace Week.

Manager of Marketing and Communications Liam Cullin says the week starts Monday  at noon with the Walk for Peace from North Bay City Hall to the YMCA.  

Cullin says also on Monday  there will be a Yoga For Peace Event at the Y.

Cullin says the highlight will be the presentation of the YMCA Peace medallions to George Couchie and Chippewa’s Raider Aid. 

That will happen on Friday.

He says they will also be collecting personal hygiene products which will be donated to the Crisis Centre at the end of the week and there’s also the Peace It Forward campaign which asks people to perform personal acts of kindness all week.

Cullin says this week has been held every year since 1984.
