Over 50 athletes from around the northeast converged on Mattawa for the fourth annual Home Hardware Classic ski racing event at Antoine Mountain.

Colin Dreany with the host North Bay Antoine Ski Racing Club was first in U14 men’s slalom and third in giant slalom.

Mikayla Cornthwaite was first in U16 women’s giant slalom and second in slalom.

Officials say Talia Cornthwaite, Cheyenne Boissonneault, Alex Park, and Harley Townson also had great performances.

The first race of the season brought in ski racers from Sudbury, Elliot Lake, Timmins and Sault St. Marie.
