In OHL pre-season play, the North Bay Battalion scored a 4-2 win yesterday afternoon (Sunday) in Owen Sound.

Adam McMaster, Zach Poirier, Brady Lyle and Max Kislinger all scored for North Bay, while David Sherman had two assists.

Brent Moran made 34 saves in the win.

The Troops finished the exhibition schedule with a 2-2 record.

They open the regular season at home to Niagara on Friday, September 23rd.

 

The Powassan Voodoos are back in action tonight at home to Kirkland Lake.

Powassan won twice to open the season on the weekend, 5-1 in Elliot Lake Friday then 4-1 at home to French River on Saturday.

 

The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers are 2-0 on the season.

This after a couple of wins over Timmins on the weekend.

After the Trappers won 4-2 on Saturday, they shutout the Majors 7-0 yesterday.

Minor midgets Sam Garagan and Matt Hardwick each had two goals.

 

In pre-season women’s hockey, the Nipissing Lakers scored a 2-0 win over York yesterday.

Meantime, in OUA soccer the Nipissing men and women were in Sudbury yesterday and both lost 3-1 to Laurentian.

In Men’s lacrosse, the Lakers played McGill twice on the weekend and lost both games.
