Former Chamber site up for sale

Council says the city is putting 1375 Seymour Street up for sale.

You may recognize that as the former site of the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce.

The business group has now moved downtown.

Mayor Al McDonald says it will be rezoned for a new development.

He says the area has been appraised for about $975,000 and they are going to tender it out for new development.

No indication yet as to what could go there, although it will be rezoned for commercial and retail development.

McDonald says it is a prime location in the city and they will use the money to offset other costs in the area.
