(File photo) Northern Ontario and North Bay will be well represented at this week’s Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada International convention.

10 local companies including Drillspec, Nordic Minesteel Technologies and Ontario Northland will be at the conference.

ONR Vice President John Thib says the convention for them is about two things: develop business opportunities but also introduce themselves so they can set up partnerships into the future.

Thib says Ontario Northland hauls mining equipment by rail and they’ll be promoting that, but will also let people know they perform re-manufacturing work for mining businesses and have previously done so for the Timmins and Sudbury areas.

He also says they’re a transportation company and will discuss that too.

The convention is in Toronto and it wraps up on Wednesday.

Other local companies include Drillco, Miller Technology, Premier Mining, The North Bay Machining Centre and Northern Survey Supply in Mattawa.
