Mattawa Voyageur Days is here!

Country night is the theme tonight (Friday) for the 22nd annual festival, with Matt James, Johnson’s Creek and Lonestar on stage at Explorers Point.

Committee member Lucie Desrochers says along with music, there’s a lot on the go for everyone.

“I think the success is definitely the community involvement, you have all of the service groups running dinners and breakfasts, assisting with various events like the Legion running the vendors market. There’s a lot of free events around town which keeps the people coming, and the kids zone,” she says.

Tomorrow is Rock Where the Rivers Meet with The Static Shift, Harlequin, Honeymoon Suite and Platinum Blonde performing.

There’s also two Max and Ruby shows for the kids.

On Sunday, there’s a water sports demonstrations.

At night the concerts include Roadhouse, along with Queen and Kiss tribute bands, followed by the choreographed fireworks finale.

Desrochers says weekend wristbands are $60 at the gate, but they have something new this year too.

“This year we do have day passes at the gate and also available online. Friday night and Saturday night are $40 and Sunday night, only at the gate, is $20,” she says.

Kids 10 and under are free.
