Council streaming Should North Bay City Councillors be given a raise on their annual salaries?

That was the question on the table at last night’s (Monday) Committee Meeting.

Councillor Derek Shogren says he’s worried about the kind of people that will run if there isn’t monetary incentive, especially for the Mayor’s Chair.

 


CAO Jerry Knox was asked if there would be a decrease in quality candidates during election time if there was no pay increase.

Knox says there would be more of an appreciation from residents if they knew the time and work put in by Councillors and the Mayor.

The CAO will bring back a report to give council some comparables to other cities in the province.
