The Clean Green Beautiful committee feels good about their initiative to date.

Spokesperson Harriet Madigan says businesses, organizations and residents have all gotten involved and they’ll be holding an on line contest next month.

She says she received support over the last little while from Caisse Alliance which has helped them purchase a new order of garbage bags.

Spokesperson Mathieu Shank says Clean Green Beautiful fits perfectly for Caisse Alliance.

“This goes hand in hand with our green initiative. Also, we are in the community and our community involvement is important to us,” he says.

He says they’re planting trees for each new member any Caisse instiution gets across the province.

The bags are available at both locations as well as several other places in the community.

As well, Madigan says the North Bay Regional Health Centre and District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board have also gotten involved.

“To push this forward to their people. To be part of the solution and be good community stewards. It’s a culture shift and it may take time. But the feedback is showing we have less garbage, less litter,” Madigan says.
