Carbon Monoxide detector

Union Gas is partnering the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council to provide more awareness about the need for Carbon Monoxide alarms in the home. It’s called Project Zero, and they are giving out 500 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to 15 fire departments in the province.

Chris Ridler is with Union Gas and he says “you should probably have more than one – depending on how big your house is you should have one per floor, and make sure your appliances are inspected regularly.”

The goal of Project Zero is to reduce the number of residential fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths to zero.
