Three researchers at Nipissing University have earned close to a half-million dollars in grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

About $195,000 is earmarked for a research project battling sex trafficking.

Over $50,000 goes to research determining why so many individuals don’t act to combat climate change while a research project to help kids be better people and teammates gets nearly $230,000.

Nipissing University’s dean of graduate studies and research Dr. Jim McAuliffe says this it’s very exciting and rewarding to see their researchers earning these prestigious grants.

He says it’s important research that will positively impact the lives of Canadians for generations to come.
