A fourth straight loss for the Battalion as they dropped a 5-3 decision to the Flint Firebirds Sunday afternoon at Memorial Gardens.

North Bay had a 2-1 lead in the second period but the Firebirds scored three straight to pull ahead.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says the Troops made too many mental mistakes.

“The margin for error for us, being a young team, isn’t much. When we make those mistakes especially against some elite players like they have, it ends up hurting us,” he says.

Brandon Coe (pictured) scored twice in the loss with Luke Moncada adding a single.

Joe Vrbetic made 28 saves in net for the Battalion.

North Bay is back in action Thursday at home to Erie.
