Competition Bureau looks at North Bay gas prices

At the end of July Councillor Mike Anthony asked the Competition Bureau to look into the price of gas in North Bay.

On Monday, he told local media he received a reply back saying the Bureau did a preliminary examination and there wasn’t enough evidence to continue further.

Anthony says he is disappointed with the result, but says the Bureau is willing to look at any evidence of anti-competitive conduct.

He says if someone in North Bay can prove this, the Bureau will hear them out.

Anthony says overall it still doesn’t make sense that North Bay is consistently the top city in terms of highest gas prices in the province.
