The North Bay Battalion are back at practice today (Monday) getting ready for their next game, coming up on Friday.

The Troops lost their season opener on home ice this past Friday, 3-1 to Niagara.

The Battalion entertain Kitchener at 7pm Friday night.

 

The Powassan Voodoos came back from 4-1 and 6-4 deficits to force overtime, but Timmins scored in double overtime to win 7-6 last night (Sunday) in Powassan.

Gary Mantz and rookie Kyle Challis each had two goals for the Voodoos while Andy Baker and Dayton Murray added singles.

Next up, Powassan travels to Kirkland Lake on Friday.

 

A couple of wins for the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers on the weekend.

They won 4-2 in New Liskeard on Friday, then 5-1 over the Cubs yesterday afternoon (Sunday) at Memorial Gardens.

Goal scorers yesterday were Eric Lachance, Jake Gravelle, Mason McMahon, Sam Garagan and Joe Whittet.

Joel Rainville got the win in net.

The Trappers are now 5-0 to start the season.

 

And Widdifield‘s Gage King won the NDA boys golf event last week.

The Wildcats team (pictured below) finished 2nd overall at the event.

The NOSSA championship goes next Monday at the Lively golf course.

The boys team includes Gage King, Cam Daniels, Tucker Roy, Will Patterson and Alex Labelle.
