Good Friday is one of nine stat holidays in Ontario and there are added closures and services not running.

It’s a much deserved day off for local grocery store workers and others in retail stores that are working through COVID-19.

Most retail outlets are shut down for the holiday.

Government offices have already scaled back operations and most have switched to phone or online contact because of COVID-19.

But, they’re typically closed on the holiday too.

There’s no city transit service today and there’s no garbage or recycling pick-up either.

That will take place tomorrow instead.
