This year’s fundraiser from the Smile Cookie campaign was a big success. We told year earlier Tim Hortons raised $10.56 million nationally.

Now, we can say close to $60,000 was raised for Nipissing Serenity Hospice locally.

Executive Director of Nipissing Serenity Hospice Gil Pharand says the generosity of this region is amazing.

He says they’re only 60% funded so this support is so important for the hospice to continue to provide the best in end-of-life palliative care.

The funds were raised at stores owned by Derek Bobowski, Ken Coughlin and Brandon Moffat.
