Voodoos on home ice tonight while several Lakers teams were in action on the weekend

The Powassan Voodoos are home to Elliot Lake tonight (Monday).

It’s the home opener for the Voodoos who won 6-5 over French River in their season opener on the road Friday in Noelville.

Game time tonight is 7 o’clock at the Powassan Sportsplex.

Meantime, several Nipissing varsity teams were in action on the weekend.

The Lakers lacrosse team is 2-0 to start the season.

After winning 9-6 over Wilfred Laurier on Saturday, Nipissing won 12-9 over Toronto yesterday (Sunday).

Meantime, the Lakers women’s soccer team also won twice the weekend. After a 3-1 win over Ryerson on Saturday, they won 2-1 over the University of Toronto yesterday.

The men, meantime, lost 3-1 to Ryerson on Saturday and played to a scoreless draw against the Varsity Blues yesterday.

And in pre-season hockey, the Nipissing men scored a 3-2 double overtime win over Laurentian on Saturday night at Memorial Gardens.
