Chirico 2
There won’t be any extra costs to municipalities for the Health Unit to build their new building downtown.

Medical Officer of Health Doctor Jim Chirico presented their Accommodations Plan to Council last night (Tuesday).

Chirico says they have been able to save money as a Board to make this possible.

Going forward Chirico says they still need to majority approval from the 31 member municipalities to make this project a reality.

Councillor Mac Bain moved forward a motion to say council supports the project. He says the proposed location of Oak Street and Cassells Street is a great choice.

If the Health Unit gets approval there is a possibility of a ground breaking this winter.
