Oracle surveyEarlier this summer city police received the results of an Oracle survey of Callander and North Bay residents.  Now, they’re holding a few town hall meetings in late September to give residents another opportunity for feedback.  The survey showed high satisfaction levels for the police service in both communities.   95% of city residents claimed to be either satisfied or very satisfied with their sense of personal safety.

That number was 97 per cent for Callander residents.

At 49 percent, the issue of drugs and drug related crimes continue to dominate the list of concerns with North Bay residents.

Other interesting results of the survey show 81 percent of North Bay residents want foot patrol officers downtown while 49 percent of Callander residents want more snowmobile patrols.

The town hall meetings go September 28th in both communities — with another session the 29th in North Bay.

Police say the results of the discussions will be used in their 2016-21 strategic planning.
