There will once again be a local presence at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair November 4th to the 13th in Toronto.

Over 50 agricultural and equine businesses and groups from around the north are involved with the 7,000 square foot Northern Ontario Agri-food Pavilion.

They include North Bay’s Greenfoot, which markets a medicinal mushroom harvested in Canada’s northern forests.

Another participant is North Bay’s Quinta Quinoa, which produces a unique, locally grown, North American variety of quinoa seed which is high in protein, zinc and fibre and an excellent source of iron, magnesium and calcium.

Ruby’s Home Bakery from Burk’s Falls will also be there.

The region’s growing beer, wine and spirits sector will also be featured at the Northern Ontario Pavilion, including South River’s Highlander Brew Company.

“The Northern Ontario Pavilion at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is a proven economic driver that helps Northern Ontario businesses gain exposure and expand their reach into southern Ontario and international markets. The opportunity to showcase their products and services allows these businesses to increase sales, create consumer awareness, establish industry contacts and grow their operations,” said Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing-Timiskaming.

This marks the 16th year that FedNor has participated in the fair, which is expected to attract more than 320,000 visitors.

Back in August, Canada’s Minister of Small Business and Tourism Bardish Chagger announced nearly $480,000 to establish the 7,000 square foot pavilion.
