Solar panels for businesses a hot topic at city council

North Bay City Councillors are on opposite sides when it comes to Solar Panels to power local businesses. In a 6-4 vote – council is supporting several businesses to pursue the option of getting rooftop solar panels. Councillor Daryl Vaillancourt says he doesn’t agree with the way the program is funded through the province. However, Councillor Chris Mayne says regardless of the costs – this is the responsible way to produce energy for the future.

Meantime, a separate project which also deals with solar panels is being proposed for the Four Mile Lake Road area.

There is an open house Friday for residents to review the components.

That open house starts at 5pm at Carmichael United Church.
