We don’t know where North Bay’s casino will be, if there is one, but we know where it won’t be.

Last night (Monday), Council confirmed the old Kenroc property on Memorial Drive will not be a location, with land declared surplus.

Councillor Sheldon Forgette says the property is not a good fit because of space and a lack of neighborhood support.

So what’s next?

The city is looking at another couple of properties on Pinewood Park Drive.

One is city-owned and the other is privately owned.

Both properties would have to be rezoned.

Councillor Mark King and Forgette say the developer of the casino would determine where the casino would go with council approval.

The developer is still to be named and that’s not expected until early next year.
