OPP logo Ontario Provincial PoliceNorth Bay OPP have released more information on a collision between an Ontario Northland  train and a tractor trailer on the bypass near Seymour Street Tuesday morning.  Police say the collision happened at around 515 am and the highway was closed for about 90 minutes.  The tractor/trailer was full of gasoline but fortunately the trailer did not suffer any damage and the load remained intact. The tractor was heavily damaged however.

The train included 3 engine cars and 46 rail cars in all.. Police say the train did not derail although one of the engine cars suffered damage.

The driver of the tractor trailer a 45 year old Marlbank male, Mark Dunn,  has been charged with failing to stop at a railway crossing, careless driving and failing to property maintain his log book. 

As well a Napanee trucking firm has been charged because one of its drivers operated a vehilce without properly maintaining the log book.
