gas Mar 3City Council passed a resolution this week calling on the competition bureau to look into what people pay for gas in North Bay.  Councillor Mike Anthony brought forward the motion. He says prices vary across the province but it seems North Bay always comes out of on the short end of the stick.  He says the range is from  $1.04 in Barrie to $1.22 in Thunder Bay and still North Bay motorists pay more at $1.26.  Anthony says the provincial average is $1.17 a litre and the national average is 1 cent more.

A copy of the resolution has been sent to MP Jay Aspin because the competition bureau is a federal body.

Anthony says they are looking for North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce involvement too.
