North Bay Fire and Emergency Services are advising the hot, dry and windy conditions could prove disastrous for any type of burning – however Fire Chief Grant Love says they are not moving to a burning ban at this time.

He goes on to say in a release; if significant rainfall is not experience they may have to move to a burning ban. They would like to remind residents that burning is not permitted within the city limits and only those with a permit may do so in rural areas.

As well, burning bush and grass for clean up around you homes can be dangerous and one careless moment can lead to a wildfire and threaten people, houses and the community.

Failure to follow burning requirements could also result in fines.
