road workChair of Engineering and Works Tanya Vrebosch says the city is renting a machine that combines recycled asphalt and a specific mix — and comes out hot — meaning a better fix for pot holes.

She points out it expands the life span of the filled pot hole compared with cold mix.

Vrebosch says they’re renting the machine on an annual basis and believe it’s something they’ll continue to use in the future.

She says it’s cheap for them to use because it involves recycled asphalt and the mix is only about 15-dollars a bag.

Another benefit is they’re able to use the machine before the asphalt plants open in May.
