Bylaw amendment means the Thunder From Down Under show will go on

There will be Thunder from Down Under in North Bay after all.

City Council had granted an exemption to the adult entertainment bylaw so the show can be seen at the Capitol Centre next March.

Councillor Mike Anthony says the bylaw was last updated in 1990 and a lot has changed since then.

He says men and women can go topless in Ontario at a performance now.

He also says it’s not like you don’t see something similar elsewhere, pointing to the movies for example.

Staff will also report back in the spring on other possible changes to the bylaw that council should consider.
