19 people were arrested and charged with a number of offences including; unlawfully in a dwelling house, possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana, mischief under $5000, possession of an edged weapon for a dangerous purpose and several other charges.

North Bay Police arrested and charged two individuals with unlawfully in a dwelling house this weekend.

On Saturday, a couple entered their newly rented downtown apartment with permission from the landlord to paint before they move in. A man was already inside the apartment and told the couple that he had paid to stay until the end of the month.

The landlord informed the couple to contact the police, which they did and the man was arrested.

The following day, while the couple was at the apartment painting, a man walked in claiming he had belongings inside the apartment and had permission to stay for the past several days. Once again the police were called and this man was also arrested.

31 year old Richard Euclide Michaud of no fixed address and 29 year old Joshua James Fanjoy of no fixed address were charged with unlawfully in a dwelling house.

 

Two men were arrested on the weekend following a traffic stop on Friday.

North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit searched and seized 254.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 12.5 grams of suspected marijuana and $75.50 in Canadian currency, as well as an edged weapon.

19 year old Matthew Hickey of Mississauga and 18 year old Khadeem Brown of Mississauga face charges for possession crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. Hickey was charged with four additional counts.

 

Three adults and two youth from the area face drug charges after an arrest in Callander of the weekend.

Around 5pm on Sunday, five people arrived at a residence in Callander in a van to sell marijuana. At the residence, two stayed in the van while the three others went inside the residence.

There it is alleged a male used an edged weapon to steal marijuana from his visitors – who immediately fled back to the van. Upon hearing the theft, the two occupants of the van caused some damage to the residence before they left the scene.

Following an investigation North Bay Police made several arrests. 34 year old Abel Arnold Merrick of West Nipissing faces three charges. 29 year old Jordan Michael William Van Mierlo of North Bay faces two charges. 28 year old Jason Robert Laperriere of Callander faces two charges. And two youth face one charge each.

 

A North Bay man faces charges for following a break and enter that occurred over the weekend of July 11th and 12th.

It is alleged during that time a person broke into the premises of a McIntyre Street East apartment and stole a number of DVD’s and Computer Games.

Following an investigation police made an arrest this past weekend. 21 year old Sheldon Gunner is charged with one count of break, enter and commit and four counts of breach of probation.
