overpass

Mayor Al McDonald was in Sudbury on Wednesday talking infrastructure with the province.

The provincial government is gathering input on how to spend $11.5-billion in infrastructure funding for areas outside the Greater Toronto Area.

McDonald says one message they had involved critical infrastructure requirements on larger project like the needed repairs to the overpass.

He says they used the $4.7-million project as an example to show how important it is for the province to partner with cities.

He points out the city has applied, under different programs, for provincial and federal funding for the project which is in the 2016 Capital Project list.

McDonald says the second message they detailed to the province was investing in infrastructure projects that would attract industries north.

Overall, he says there were presentations and round table discussions at the consultation which he says was well worth the trip.
