Impaired driving charges in the City of North Bay have declined each year from 2013 through 2015 and that trend could continue this year.

In 2013 there were 68 impaired charges in North Bay.

That dropped to 66 the next year, then dropped again to 60 in 2015.

City police say there have been 50 impaired driving charges to date this year.

With five weeks left, there’s still a chance that downward trend can continue if motorists don’t drink and drive.

As mentioned this week, city police will be conducting Festive RIDE checks.

The campaign runs through January 7th.

North Bay Police say they average about 54 RIDE stops per year.
