lifeguardFrom now until August 23rd, you’ll find lifeguards on duty at a few city beaches.

From 12 noon until 7pm, 7 days a week, there are three city beaches that are stationed with lifeguards.

They include the Waterfront Beach on Memorial Drive along with the Birchaven Cove and Olmstead Beach, both on Lakeside Drive.

They’re responsible for the water area within the buoy lines.

Officials say anyone swimming outside the marked area are doing so at their own risk.

Meantime, Lifeguards aren’t just watching the water, they’re educating the public on the Parks bylaw too.

Officials say Lifeguards are also responsible for ensuring that the Parks Bylaw is followed within the beach park area — which includes no dogs or pets in the beach area and no alcohol consumption in the park.
