“A phenomenal night”.

That’s how Downtown North Bay Executive Director Jeff Serran says everyone describes the 28th annual Downtown Christmas Walk this past Friday night.

He says the crowds were huge, “We average over the three hour time period about 10,000 people down at that walk. It’s definitely a huge city-wide event which Downtown is really happy to put on for the city. And, I would say we were probably between 2,000 and 4,000 more than that.”

Serran says one business owner told him that day was the best day since she opened.

The annual event is the kick-off to the holiday season downtown.

The event began with the traditional tree-lighting and included horse and buggy rides, hydro bucket rides, music and much more.

Serran is inviting everyone to check out the tree (pictured below), which was donated by the Barker Family.

It’s located in the Diegel Parkette, at Main and Fraser.
