The numbers are in from the 2016 edition of Summer In the Park.

The festival ended in the black, with a $30,128 surplus.

Attendance was estimated at about 42,500 people over the course of the weekend with over 72 per cent from out of town.

That’s up 25 per cent from last year’s out of town guests.

In terms of wristbands, over 6,568 were sold, which is 13 per cent more than last year.

Hotels, meantime, reported nearly 94 percent occupancy on the Friday night of the Festival and nearly 96 per cent on Saturday July 30th.

Planning is already underway for the 2017 event.

The Committee is further engaging the arts community and other community groups with a focus on helping to celebrate Canada 150.
