pipesThe province has announced a series of roundtable consultation sessions involving infrastructure and three of the four major centres in the northeast are on the list.

North Bay is not one of them.

Sessions are planned for Timmins, Sudbury and Sault Ste Marie in mid-July.

MPP Vic Fedeli was asked what he thought of this announcement, and he said “one of the biggest requirements in infrastructure throughout the north is Ontario Northland. They need infrastructure in track replacement…and the fact that the government is not coming here to listen to them tells us the Liberal Government doesn’t understand Northern Ontario

In a release, the province says communities, businesses and residents in the northeast will have “the opportunity to ensure the region’s infrastructure needs and priorities are heard as part of the development of the province’s long-term plan to build roads, bridges, transit, hospitals and schools.”

Fedeli says “the important thing is that you can submit in writing and online and I would recommend to any of the people requiring infrastructure to do that“.

Feedback can be given online or in writing by September 18th.

The province says they feedback will help when determining how to allocate the remaining $11.5 billion of a $15 billion investment outside the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
